Upgrade & Downgrade Policy

A plain-language explanation of exactly when a plan or billing-cycle change takes effect, and when you're charged for it.

The short version

Upgrades are immediate

Moving to a higher tier - Free → Plus, Plus → Pro, or Monthly → Yearly on a higher tier - unlocks your new quotas and seats right away, as soon as you complete checkout.

Downgrades wait until renewal

Moving to a lower tier keeps your current plan active - with its current limits - until the end of the billing cycle you already paid for. The downgrade then applies automatically.

Cycle switches wait too

Switching only the billing cycle on the same tier (e.g. Pro Monthly → Pro Yearly, or Pro Yearly → Pro Monthly) also takes effect at the end of your current cycle, so you always get what you already paid for.

How charges work

Tier upgrades

When you upgrade to a higher tier, your account gains the new tier's limits immediately. The upgrade purchase is charged in full at checkout. If you were on an active yearly plan and upgrade to a higher yearly tier, we credit the unused portion of your current term toward the new plan, so you never pay twice for the same period.

If you upgrade from a monthly plan, your next regular billing date and amount are simply updated to reflect the new tier going forward - there's no separate "true-up" invoice.

Downgrades & same-tier cycle switches

Because you've already paid for your current billing cycle, downgrading or switching cycle length doesn't take anything away early. Your existing plan, limits, and renewal date remain unchanged until the current cycle ends. At that point the new tier or billing cycle activates automatically, and future invoices reflect the new price.

You can cancel a pending downgrade or cycle switch any time before it takes effect from your dashboard.

What you'll see on the dashboard

Wherever a change is scheduled for the next billing cycle rather than applied immediately, the button and confirmation screen are marked with an asterisk (*) and a short note ("Effective after your current billing cycle ends"). No asterisk means the change is immediate.
